After years of rapid growth, China's auto industry has entered a new era of industrial transformation and technological upgrading. Driven by the dual-point legislation and the new energy vehicle industry policy, vehicle materials have also ushered in new development opportunities. The traditional steel-based automotive material structure is developing towards the mixed application of steel-aluminum hybrid, all-aluminum body, plastic composite and magnesium alloy. Multi-material hybrid applications have brought new material joining technology requirements, and various connection methods such as riveting, bonding and composite joining have been rapidly developed in the automotive industry. It is extremely urgent to solve a series of industrialization problems such as structural design, joint mechanics model, performance evaluation and process quality control in the process of connecting dissimilar materials.
Along with the industry's high attention to connection technology, China Automotive Materials Network held 2018, 2019 two-time "International Automotive Lightweight Materials Connection Technology Seminar". It has gathered the resources of connection technology suppliers covering mechanical connection, welding, bonding, composite connection, etc., providing a connection technology exchange platform for nearly 100 domestic and foreign OEMs and parts factories. based on the technical resources formed by this, China Automotive Materials Network organized the Handbook of Automotive Material Connection Technology. Since the publication of the Handbook for the industry, it has won unanimous praise from experts and engineers.
The 2020 (3rd) Forum On International Automotive Lightweight Materials Connection Technology will be held on March 19-20. The conference will focus on new requirements for joining technology under the application of new automotive materials, and discuss hot-spot technologies such as riveting, bonding, fastening, FDS, laser welding, friction stir welding, CMT welding, and resistance spot welding.
